With over 35 years of experience in model flying, design and later on composite fabrication, my dad goes a long way back in the RC scene. A lot of his knowledge and experience as well as the passion for RC modeling have been passed on to me over the last few years.


After flying RC helicopters for about 2 years, my interests directed more towards soaring, hand launched gliders in particular. Having the equipment available I started working on my own high-end dlg design. After numerous tests with different airfoils on bagged wings I knew in which direction I wanted to take it.


So the Helios was born, a high performance ship that excels in launch and penetration (which is according to me very important in today’s competition flying). It has been a very challenging yet fulfilling journey to create a high quality product and this is only the beginning of a new series of gliders which can take any pilot, from beginner to pro, one step up! The wings and tails are molded and produced with a solid rohacell core which is cnc’ed with high precision so it makes it many times more durable than hollow moulded parts.

Helios 2

The Helios 2 is a competition class 1.5meter dlg which excels in launch and penetration; it uses the zoneV2 airfoils designed by Gerald Taylor. While delivering very high performance these airfoils are being quite forgiving and can handle turbulence very well.


They can be flown with less ballast, which means the average pilot can get higher launches in windy conditions where thermals move fast. The Helios has a short nose so masses are well centered, this results in great maneuverability.


All parts are fabricated with the latest and best high-end materials resulting in a light and stiff airframe. Wings and tails are offered in 2 different lay-up’s covering all demands in strength as well as weight.

XXLite

The xxlite is an extraordinary new concept in the discus launched glider class; it pushes the limits in both construction and performance in today’s f3k scene.


Launches are exceptionally high even at a very low weight, even the not so powerful launchers get very descent launch height’s even in windy conditions because less ballast is needed.

The range of this ship is phenomenal, it can cover more ground and it does not lose much height while doing this.


Even the still air times are nothing less than great, part of it is due to the extra launch height you get.


It needs to be flown faster than the average dlg but it climbs in a thermal with the best.


Like the Helios it is constructed with a cnc’ed rohacell core which makes it more durable and easier to repair then hollow molded ships.


Due to the very thin wing all servo’s need to go in the fuselage, all small parts are shipped with a kit, the aileron connection pieces(brass) come pre-bended and drilled for a very easy installation.

To order a complete model kit you need to pick a fuselage, wing, tails and throwblade and add it to the shopping cart.
On each part you find a info button info which explains how prices are calculated or give you further info to help you choose the right part for you.


When you are done choosing parts, click on the shopping cart in the left lower corner on the screen(shopping cart appears once you added an item).

F3k models:

The Helios2

Wings are offered in 4 different lay-up’s covering all demands in strength as well as weight. The helios2 has an AUW starting from 260gram.


The Helios2x

The helios2x has a shorter tailboom and smaller stab which makes it more agile compared to the helios2. It reacts more vivid to the air and stick input.


The aileron servos can be installed in the wing or the fuselage. Installing them in the fuselage gets an AUW starting from 240grams, with servos installed in the wing the weight starts from 250gram.


The XXlite

The xxlite fuselage has a very short nose and holds all 4 servos (It's not possible to mount the aileron servos in the wing)


Includes: fuselage, canopy, bolts, servotray and pushrods.


XXlite Wing:

Wings are offered in 3 lay-ups , "samurai" , "spread-tow IM" or "carbo-line".


Carbo-line is the lightest option.


The samurai and the spread-tow versions are more robust at some weight penalty. Samurai being the lightest of the two.


Wing weights:
carbo-line 39:95-105gr
samurai:105-110gr
spread-tow(IMS):115-120gr

These are average wingweights with one of the free paintschemes.


There are a few designs included in the basic kit price, special designs and more colors are also available at an additional cost. Some paint schemes are offered both symmetrical and asymmetrical. I suggest to dynamically balance the wing after installing the throw blade.


Choosing a asymmetrical paint scheme can help to achieve this without adding weight. Bear in mind that paint adds weight, less painted(colored) surface=less weight.

XXlite vertical tail:

Tails are offered in 2 different lay-ups as well, Fibreglass tails are stiffer (torsionally) and more durable than cfv tails. Those are designed with 1 goal in mind=low weight. The spar system on both versions is identical and they both handle the strongest launches, but cfv tails have more fragile edges and I only recommend them for a light specialty plane for matching conditions. For an all-round glider I only recommend glass tails.


A color on the tip of the glass tails can be choosen at no extra cost.


Includes: tail, control horn and pull-spring system.


XXlite horizontal tail:

The throw blade can be either a normal offset (*) blade(1gram) or a offset t-blade (2grams) , if you are a brutal launcher I suggest installing the offset T-blade as this one transfers the loads (twisting/bending) better to the wing. A smooth launcher ,whether you throw 50 or 80 meters, will do just fine with the normal offset blade and has a lighter wing at the most preferable location.


(*): the throw blade has an offset to match the difference in length of the index and middle finger.


XXlite cover:

Wing and tail bags are recommended to prevent damage during transport and to keep the wings out of direct sunlight , these protective covers are made out of high quality fabric and are custom made for the specific model.

XXlite ballast:

A ballast set includes : ballasttube, 20gr lead balls, metal rods & retainer collars good for a 20-40-60 and 80 gram slug.


Ballasttube for pilots who buy a second(or more) model and don't need a complete extra ballastset.


Helios 2 fuselage:

The helios2 fuselage has a very sleek design , it has very little frontal area and a super clean wing intersection , the aileron servos need to be mounted in the wing.


Includes : fuselage, canopy, wingbolts and servotray.


Helios 2 Wing:

Wings are offered in 4 lay-ups , samurai , spread-tow IM. And 2 versions of carbo-line.


The carbo-line versions are the lightest option , carbo-line 39 wingskin makes for nice surface quality at a very low weight , the carboline 26 makes even lighter wings but there can possibly be some voids in between the fibres making the surface quality a little less good.


The samurai and the spread-tow versions both make a very tight surface at some weight penalty. Samurai being the lightest of the two.


Wing weights:
carbo-line 26:110-115gr
carbo-line 39:120-125gr
samurai:125-130gr
spread-tow(IMS):135-140gr
